Peter in action

We've gotten a few pictures of Peter, recently, and thought we'd share.  He's just a kid who loves action and adventure.  His favorite past time is waiting for someone to keep the latch on the gate loose, then to make a break for it.  He is usually good enough to wait until someone sees him before he bolts down the sidewalk laughing.

Of course, he has sisters who love to dress him up, as well.  I came home from a jog one day to find that Abby and Lizzy had dressed Peter up in a bee costume and were taking pictures of him on the swing set.

A boy waits for the parade to come.

So that's how they used to do it.

Is this the million-gallon one, John?

Peter loved seeing this photo of the big blue airplane. He asked to see it again and again.

Boy, parades are LOUD.

Later on... July 5th.

I had thought we'd raised good kids, but here is Jacob Jr. in the stocks for disorderly conduct at "Colonial Days."  Believe me when I tell you he wasn't the only one from our family who suffered a similar punishment.  He was just the only one, I think, who had a hard time keeping his hands in the holes.

Lizzy's no land-lubber.

This, believe it or not, is Maggie's "tough" pose by the model ship's cannon.  I can't help but thinking that in Colonial days, when Skippers were outfitting their man-o-wars and other sea vessels, the catalogs they shopped in probably also had pictures of pretty girls posing by the artillery.

Corn on the cob

This is a picture of the corn on the cob we ate.

The Fourth of July (and the 5th)

Pet

Happy 4th of July!

We're indebted to the John and Sharalyn family (particularly Camille) for staking claim on such fine seats for the parade.  While driving to the parade route (which took us about as long as it takes to drive to Kaysville) I thought that the only spots left to watch from would be on top of the Heber J. Grant building at BYU.  Luckily, we had great shady seats!  And popcorn!

Peter had a great time with Grandpa and Grammy.  Here's a picture of the three All-Americans.

Dallin, Dallin and more Dallin

This post is dedicated exclusively to Dallin, not only because he is dashing and he deserves his own post, but also because he is debonaire.

Dallin isn't exactly "in" this picture... but much of his comrades are.

Fourth of July Parade in Provo 2010

Camille slept here beginning at 5:05 a.m. to help save a shady spot on the parade route. Thanks Camille.

Hey Mom. This is LOUD.

Missionaries from the Utah Provo Mission received a standing ovation and handshaking.

We waited the whole parade for this - and it was worth it: a regal drum major.

You looked great, Dallin. Well done.

Peter takes the wheel with confidence.

Construction foreman and laborer.

A good guy to have on your crew.

How did we luck out getting this cutie on our shift?

Yep.

Daddy sure gives fun rides.

Peeking over. Hmmmm.

What was that???

Another princess looks out over the world.

Her face is wreathed with leaves mirrored in the glass.
